This gateway on the south side of Ronda served as the main gateway to Ronda’s castle in the 13th century. The Islamic gate is made up of three doors and it’s part of the wall that protects Old Town. The gate was fully restored in 1961. It gets its name from the Arabic word for cemetery "al-maqabir."
