The nostalgic Downtown Atlanta institution founded in 1928 calls itself "The World's Largest Drive-in" with the original 70 by 120 foot lot opened by founder Frank Gordy now more than two acres allowing space for 600 vehicles and 800-plus people. One of the carhops will ask "What'll ya have?" as you browse some of the famous menu selections like a hot dog, hamburger, chili cheese fries, onion rings, a fried pie or a Varsity Orange drink. The restaurant employees and locals have their own lingo for the menu items and the spot is a favorite for Georgia Tech sports teams and their fans. The Varsity has nine locations, catering and its chili is available for sale.
